Vampire Films
There are hundreds if not thousands of movies made about the subject of vampires since the birth of film. This list on my favorite top 10 vampire movies in no particular order.
10 – Monster Squad
A Picture From Monster Squad, an 80's kid's movie where a kid actually says SHIT!
This is one of those must see monster movies. It was made in the 80’s and stars dracula, werewolf, the swamp monster, a mummy and a few other villians who are trying to take over the world. For a good time check this one out.
9 – Interview with the Vampire
Interview with a Vampire, a movie based on the Anne Rice book.
Created by Anne Rice, the movie follows the journeys of Lestat and Louis The movie stars Brad Pitt as Louis and Tom Cruise as Lestat (don’t let that turn you away). It goes from the 18th to 20st centuries detailing their legacy. Definitely a must see vampire movie.
8 – Queen of the Damned
Queen of the Damned, another movie from Lestat's World.
Another great movie from the creative mind of Anne Rice. It continues the saga of Lestat as a rock star. Another very good movie on the subject of vampires. One of the best vampire movies taking place in a modern setting.
7 – From Dusk Until Dawn
From Dusk Until Dawn, not your average vampire movie.
An action packed movie following two bank robbers into Mexico. What they thought was a safe haven from the police has become their worst nightmare. A MUST SEE!
6 – Blade I-III
Blade, from the Blade series, looking bad ass as usual.
The Blade trilogy is perhaps one of the best vampire action movies ever made. Starring Wesley Snipes, it follow the protagonist Blade, a half human, half vampire daywalker as he protects the innocent from the vampire threat.
6 – Vampires: Los Muertos
Vampires, Los Muertos - Bon Jovi the Bounty Hunter?
This movie follows bounty hunter Bon Jovi as he hunts vampires. Another one worth seeing if you are a vampire movie enthusiast.
5 – Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992)
Bram Stoker's Dracula, based on the book.
Perhaps one of the most remade movies of all time, this 1992 version is a must see, following the narrator from Dracula’s home to bring Dracula to his own doorstep.
4 – Jesus Christ – Vampire Hunter
Watching this movie may be an effective method of suicide.
This ridiculous movie that follows Jesus in his hunt for vampires. I basically threw this on the list for shits and giggles. Only watch this if you want to waste 2 hours of your life. (or how ever long you last until you shut it off).
3 – Underworld
Underworld, where vampires hate werewolves.
This movie follows the an underground war between vampire and werewolves. This movie has really cool special effects for 2000 but the ideas fall short.
2 – Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, slayin shit.
A young girl discovers that she has the uncanny ability to… SLAY VAMPIRES! If you are in the mood for a cheesy vampire movie check this one out.
1 – Vampire Hunter D – Bloodlust
Vampire Hunter D, destroyer of Vampires
Vampire Hunter D follows a vampire as he lays carnage to vampires who get in his way. For an anime, it is nicely done. It is definitely worth seeing regardless of whether you are an anime fan or not.
