Chupa-chupa sightings have been reported in South America, Central America, and Puerto Rico. It was named after the chupacabra and is believed to be associated with red UFO lights that supposedly burn and hurt people. This drains their blood causing them to become anemic, which some victims were reported dead.
The Attacks
The attacks and UFO sightings around Brazil reached its height from July 1977 to November 1978. In all around 40 people, mostly adults, were injured and sought medical treatment. It did kill some people and at least one animal, a dog. Out of the 40 victims, they claimed they were struck by a red beam of light. which burned their chest and lowered their hemoglobin levels. Some of the victims died over a period of a few months after, which led people to believe the aliens sucked the blood or energy from the victims.
One victim says that she was sleeping in a hammock when she was awaken by a bright green light shining inside her window. The beam turned from green to a red and saw a man who looked like he was wearing a diving suit, the beam looked like it was coming out of a pistol that he held in his hand. He shot her in the chest with it three times, she described the feeling like being poked with needles and instantly become thirsty. She could not move at all, but she managed to scream. She thought that the beam took the blood out of her and left three small circular punture scars in a triangle above her right breast. Her scream woke her cousin up, the mysterious being was out of sight. She was rushed to the hospital and suffered headache and fever that lasted for weeks. A pregnant woman also was shot with the red beam, she bruised and then misscarried, A doctor who treated many of the victims noticed they had small wounds on their arms where it looks like blood was taken.

It has been described as an alien, a reptile, or even a demon. Most often though, it’s described as a dog-like creature that walks around on his hind legs, lacking fur. He has glowing red eyes and some people describe the chupacabra as having wings. He is said to have a spiney back that can change colors. Chupacabra: The Attacks
The name of the chupacabra comes from victims it takes. There have been reports of the chupacabra sucking the blood out of many farm animals, most predominantly goats and cattle. The victims most often have punture wounds on their bodies, usually on their neck, forehead, legs, and genital area. Sometimes the wounds are described as looking like surgical cuts, not like teeth marks, although in many Mexican cases there are two holes in the skin, which do in fact look like bite marks. Sometimes the brain or liver is missing from the body, and in unusual cases, slime is found around the dead bodies. Most of the victims are animals but several human attacks have been reported. There was an attack in Mexico reported in 1996, a woman was clawed on the back. The weird thing is that the craw marks resembled burn marks. There was another report by from a woman in Costa Rica who claims the creature grabbed her and tried to fly off with her, but she put up a fight and escaped.
Attacks in the U.S.
Near Miami Florida there were reports of domestic animals, goats, chickens, and ducks that were attacked and blamed on the chupacabra. A paw print was found at the scene of one of the attacks. Casts were made of itand examined. They found the print looked like from a large dog but had human nails rather than claws. Some people believe this beast has been around since the dinosaurs.
