Werewolves

Adlet

The adlet, a half man, half wolf creature from Inuit lore.

Adlets, from Inuit lore, were created a long time ago when an Inuit woman mated with a large red dog. The woman became pregnant, and her offspring were very unusual.

Anspach

The Anspach Werewolf was a German werewolf case that happened in 1685. The werewolf was believed to be a returning dead burgomaster who wanted to raise havoc to Anspach, present-day Ansbach, Germany.

The Aurvergne Werewolf case took place in 1558. It was first recorded by Henri Boguet, a demonologist, in his book titled “Discours des Sorciers” in 1602.

Beast of Bray Road

The Beast of Bray Road was thought to be a werewolf seen in Wisconsin and Michigan from 1989-1992. It was named after its first sighting, which was on Bray Road, an isolated country road near Elkhorn, in southeastern Wisconsin, a small town with 6,500 people residing.

Berserkir

Berserkir are from Norse lore and their name, directly translated, means “men in a bear shirt.” Their name is also the foundation of the english word berserk, meaning uncontrolled chaotic behavior.

Bouda

The Bouda, a were-hyena from African lore.

The Bouda are from Moroccan Berbers, and were known as were-hyenas. They are sometimes referred to as bultungin which in Nigeria it means, “I change myself into a hyena.”

Boxenwolf, Buxenwolf

The boxenwolf was a human who could take the form of a regular wolf.

The boxenwolf (also known as the buxenwolf) is from Germanic lore, from the Schaumberg region. He was believed to have made a pact with the Devil himself.

Budas

The Budas comes from Abyssinian lore.

The Budas come from Abyssinian lore and were potters or iron workers that had the ability to shape-shift into werewolves or hyenas.

Cressi Werewolves

The Cressi Sorcerers were said to have the ability to shapeshift into wolves.

The Cressi Werewolf case took place in France, in the village of Cressi.

Dogmen

The dogmen; a human, dog hybrid.

Dogmen are reported all over the world. They are creatures with wolf heads and seem to have unusual human characteristics as well, such as hands and can usually walk upright.
