Andanara

A common African wildcat, thought to be the appearance of the Andanara.

Andanara comes from the Azande of African lore. They are known as wild male cats that sleep with human women, and the women then give birth to human children and cats as well.

Anniversary Ghosts

The Black Dahlia, supposedly an anniversary ghost.

Anniversary ghosts are those that appear on a certain day or period of time because of a significant event. Usually the time period would be related to their death; but not always.

The Anspach Werewolf was a German werewolf case that happened in 1685. The werewolf was believed to be a returning dead burgomaster who wanted to raise havoc to Anspach, present-day Ansbach, Germany.

The aswang manananggal is a vampire from the Filipino lore. It is just a head with no body and organs trailing behind.

The Baital is an Indian vampire and is the older term for vetala. It is known as an evil spirit that is mischievous and goes into cemeteries, taking over a dead persons’ bodies.
